A top-ten match-up with Washington State landed the
Bucks squarely in the middle of national attention.
ESPN brought its "College Gameday" show to
Columbus, and Clarett once again was deserving of the
spotlight. He ran for 230 yards-194 of it after half-time-the
second most ever gained by a freshman at Ohio State
(Archie Griffin had 239 against North Carolina in 1972).
Two interceptions were costly for the Cougars, who fell
25-7.
